I am a wedding and portrait photographer who keeps things light, fun, and full of energy. I’m based out of Springfield, Illinois however I love traveling all over the midwest and beyond.
inquire about your session!
Caitlin and Mitch’s wedding is set for this fall and of course they are hoping for beautiful autumn colors. However, they lucked out with the timing of their engagement session when some spring blooms finally started to pop! We started our time together in Springfield, IL at Washington Park before heading out to Caitlin’s grandparent’s farm in Rochester, IL for some fun! These two are totally smitten and in love with each other and they are so easy to get along with. I could tell they were a bit nervous at the beginning of the session, but assured them we were going to have a blast and I would guide them through everything. Within a few minutes they settled in as I kept making them laugh by saying, “I know this feels weird….but it will look great!” Mitch couldn’t wait to pull Caitlin in for plenty of snuggles and kisses! We spent an huge amount of time showing off the pair with an incredible white blossoming tree in the park! After a late start to spring, the fresh flourishing buds had us all a bit giddy!
After the park, we took a quick trip downtown for a touch of an urban look for Caitlin, who mentioned she loved the brick look! This was a totally different vibe than the park, yet I love giving couple’s variety. The one common factor however was Caitlin and Mitch’s joy! We were cracking jokes, talking about the wedding, and I was making sure the hugging didn’t stop! What an incredible time!
Finally, we drove out to the Maxheimer Farm, where I found out minutes before there would be a few furry faces for me to be introduced too! Chloe, their adorable Cockapoo, with the best fur coloring ever and two toned eyes (which I’m partial too because one of my own furbabies has those same lovely eyes!) The energy in this tiny pup was awesome! So many new smells and room to roam! And Caitlin had an adorable bandana for Chloe to wear saying, ” I Do Too”! Priceless! After their puppy had her moment to shine, we headed further onto the farm where the next surprise duo was hanging out. Simon and Theodore, the one month old baby calves were recently born on the farm and were ready to eat. And no doubt, have their close up! Caitlin and Mitch are naturals with the calves and loved bottle feeding them together. I’ve had the pleasure of being around a good number of cows lately for weddings and engagement sessions. But, playing with TWO baby cows was a highlight! Those faces! I’m obsessed! We finished up with Caitlin and Mitch when the sun peeked out right before it set giving us an orange and pink sky. I loved my time with Caitlin and Mitch and their big day will be here before we know it! Can’t wait!
Warm Regards,
Lauren
