To be put to task to describe Aubrey and Jonny in one word would be difficult. Kind, laid back, pleasant, thoughtful, and hard working all come to mind. All of these traits came out for at their fall engagement session at the Sugar Creek Covered Bridge in Chatham, Illinois as well as the Nipper Creek Wildlife Sanctuary in Loami, Illinois. They both said they are lovers of the country so the idea of downtown photos didn’t really appeal to them. I love a couple who knows what they like! We began at the covered bridge on a beautiful and somewhat warm October day. The green was still hanging around on the trees and not too much had started turning into the autumn colors yet. However, Aubrey and Jonny didn’t seem to mind. They were simply enjoying the time they got to spend focusing on one another as we went through photos. Aubrey had joked that pictures were not Jonny’s favorite thing in the world to do (Spoiler Alert…It’s not for most guys)! Luckily with my style of shooting, it’s all about having fun and less about super stiff posing. I think that helped for both Jonny and Aubrey to relax and go with the flow of the e-session!
Once we finished up at the covered bridge, we took the back roads from Chatham to Loami to the wildlife sanctuary. I found out that Jonny is from the Loami area, which is where I live with my family, so it’s nice to meet a “local”! Especially since I totally did not know the country road way over to Loami that we took since we are newer to the area! 😉 I have however, discovered the sanctuary a few times and it has quickly become one of my favorite spots. Between the long bridge, great detailed building, and tall grasses we had plenty to work with to highlight Aubrey and Jonny’s love for one another. They have a very close, sweet relationship as a couple and Jonny has a way of giving Aubrey a look and making her immediately giggle! So cute! We all had such a blast at their engagement session that I can only imagine how wonderful and incredible their September wedding will be this year! Can’t wait!
