Blogging is fairly new to me and my business. I have been working on sharing all of my wonderful couples, families, and seniors since I started writing last year. I learned so much in 2017 as I began telling the stories of my experiences with my clients. I was honestly reluctant to start blogging because I thought I wouldn’t be able to come up with enough content to keep my readers interested. What I didn’t anticipate was falling behind with my writing on top of shooting, previewing, editing, and marketing my business. I hold myself to a high standard with my turnaround times I provide to all of my amazing clients. Especially in the fall when I sometimes feel like I’m simply trying to keep my head above water! With that being said, a few of my amazing engagement sessions fell to the wayside and I was never able to get around to blogging about them in the autumn. And I feel terrible! So I’m starting to get back to share their stories and today I’m introducing you to Alexa and Dillon! Oh and their furbabies, Bowser and Asher!
We started their fall engagement session where their love story started at MacMurray College in Jacksonville, IL. Alexa played volleyball while Dillon was a pitcher for the Highlander baseball team. Since sports were such a big part of both of their college lives we definitely had to relive those days during their e-session! We started in the gym on campus where Alexa must have spent many hours in her college career. It didn’t take long to see how adorable these two are together. And to realize the height difference between them! WOW! Dillon towers over Alexa, but I think that just made for more snuggly photos with Dillon wrapping her up in his arms! Once we finished inside, we headed out to the baseball diamond where many of Dillon’s old teammates were awaiting his return to the mound and cheer on their photos! Which was pretty hilarious to have an audience! We played around on the field for a bit, even including some clever use of the scoreboard to show off their wedding date. They thought of it all! Then once we completed our time at MacMurray we headed to a local park for Bowser and Asher’s close ups. Alexa and Dillon got to come too!
For Alexa, a nurse, and Dillon a police officer their love story includes two incredibly cute pit bulls they have rescued. They are full of energy and I think keep this couple pretty busy! They wanted their pups to be part of their session from the get go and I can see why! I had so much fun photographing all four of them at the park! However, Alexa and Dillon are so lively together even without their four-legged kids in the frame. Most of the time they were joking around with each other and were bursting with joy! They understand what makes the other tick and Dillon is still trying to entice laughter out of his girl after many years with one another. I absolutely cannot wait for their big day in October this year! It will be one to remember!
Warm Regards,
Lauren
