I am a wedding and portrait photographer who keeps things light, fun, and full of energy. I’m based out of Springfield, Illinois however I love traveling all over the midwest and beyond.
inquire about your session!
I met Tyler a couple of years ago when I photographed his blended family for a fall mini session. When I say I laughed so hard my sides hurt with this group that is no lie! Then a few months later his mom, Laura, and her long time man, Jeff, decided to finally tie the knot! You can find their winter “Day After” wedding session HERE (and my very first client blog post), which also shows some fun moments from the family session! Their crew was such a blast a year ago so I had no doubt when mom booked Tyler’s senior session we would have a wonderful time. Tyler is going into his senior year at Glenwood High School in Chatham, Illinois and is excited about being in the top class on campus.
We decided on a couple little spots in downtown Springfield, Illinois to start the shoot. I knew of a few funky doors, tile walls, and of course Tyler’s favorite spot…A brick wall! The back story of the brick wall was when mom suggested a few places including a “Cool Brick Wall” Tyler laughed and said, “Ummmm….It’s a wall!?!” So since I tend to be a bit of a smarty pants, I totally made his stand in front of a brick wall during his session to get a laugh out of him! We then headed out to Riverside Park since this was one place Tyler really liked were the train trestle crossed over the river. Working around that area we played with one of his favorite accessories (a baseball hat) as well as experimenting with his hooded shirt. I remember telling him he would either love it or hate it since it was something new I wanted to try. Well considering his posted it on Instagram after his preview, I would say he loved it! Which I totally did as well! Thanks so much Tyler for allowing me to photograph your senior portraits! I know for a guy this type of session isn’t always on the top of your list. But you totally rocked it and earn major brownie points with your mama! Hope you enjoyed yourself. Great job and good luck in your senior year!
Warm Regards,
Lauren
