inquire about your session!
You have scheduled your engagement session with me! Check! And YAY! We have probably started to brain storm a bit based on your specific thoughts. Check! Then you freeze! WHERE are the best spots for your photos? Panic sets in…your mouth might even get a tad dry and you aren’t sure how you will ever decide. Breathe! I’m here with you the every step of the way! Let me help you with a few ideas of where to begin choosing the best places for your session. Most of my e-sessions start about 2 hours before sunset to give us the beautiful golden light at the end of the day. That being said, we can usually get two, potentially three locations into that timeframe. Keep in mind outfit changes as well as any travel time between locations can steal from shooting time. But, we will chat about all those factors as we get closer to your session. However, for now let’s focus on the simple task of choosing your locations.
I usually begin by telling my couple’s to think about any spots that have significant meaning to their relationship. The place where the proposal happened. If there’s a spot where you first met or had your first date. Or even the college or sports field where you spent many of your early years together. Looking back on your photos down the road, when you choose spots that have a special meaning to you and your soon-to-be spouse those memories will be that much more joyful! Take a moment to reflect on those places from your love story. Next would be to think outside of the box! Do you have exclusive access to a location most people don’t? Such as a family farm, baseball stadium, or off limits rooftop only a few have permission to view? These unique locations can really set the tone for an incredible engagement session. Maybe you even have your heart set on a destination e-session. You have visited a place and thought to yourself “This site would make for Amazing photos one day”! Now is your chance! It could be a place outside of the Springfield area where you absolutely fell in love with the locations. I am definitely more than willing to travel to make your session everything you dreamed of. Simply ask and we can work on the logistics. Depending on the location their may be some travel fees added, however it may be worth it to capture you and your fiancé in a gorgeous spot you love! And if you are still coming up with nothing, the next step would be to decide if you want to include a downtown location (or two) followed by a park or county view. I think it is always fun to start surrounded by historic or funky cityscapes with wonderful architecture to play with. This give you the opportunity for more sophisticated and fancy photos for you to choose from. Then to finish off out in the country or a beautiful park with lots of trees, maybe flowers or leaves (depending on the season), and a place where we can get some amazing sunset photos (my favorite). These types of locations are more relaxed with room for cozying up with your sweetie. And feel free to search through my past engagement sessions either on my website or on social media to visually see spots that may appeal to you. I’m a visual person (go figure) so this is a helpful way for me personally to get my mind thinking location. I’m always here with any suggestions or assistance you may need! Keep in mind, all these decisions are suppose to be enjoyable. Therefore if you feel yourself starting to stress out over anything, please step back, take a moment to reflect on the reasons you love your fiancé and about the excitement you have felt for this time in your lives. Recenter yourself and then lets move forward with creating beautiful memories leading up to your long awaited wedding day!
Warm Regards,
Lauren
