I am a wedding and portrait photographer who keeps things light, fun, and full of energy. I’m based out of Springfield, Illinois however I love traveling all over the midwest and beyond.
inquire about your session!
Working with the Poludniak family for their generational session was an absolute treat! I’ve know Karen since we started playing on the same soccer team, The Rowdies, back when we were eight years old. Her younger sister, Kate, and mom, Susan, accompanied us when we went to soccer games and out of town tournaments growing up. To say Karen and I grew up together all the time would be an understatement. Playing on the same team from age eight all the way through high school there were a lot of sleep overs, dances, and birthday parties. We were around each other a ton! And I loved every minute! So when she asked me to photograph her whole family again I was truly very excited. We chose Washington Park in Springfield, Illinois due to the beautiful flowers and scenery at the Botanical Gardens. Karen, her husband and high school sweetheart, John along with their handsome son, Brycen were part of the session. As well as Kate and her husband, Neal and his daughter, Sophie. And of course the matriarch of the family, Susan. One big happy family who were all so amazingly wonderful to spend time with.
It was a little windy, but overall an warm beautiful day at the park. So if wind was all we had to contend with, then I was completely fine with that! The kiddos did great! Brycen was a bit weary of me at the beginning, but once I found out that he had a visit at the zoo the day before and we got him started on all the animals he got to see…we were golden! He especially liked the giraffes! His face would light up every time I mentioned the long necked mammal. We focused on making sure we captured all the different combinations of the family that we could possibly think of and I made sure to throw some fun candid shots in there for this goofy group! Grandma was definitely loving snuggling up on her two grandkids and they could get enough of her as well. I couldn’t have asked for a more delightful time with a family if I tried. Always enjoy reconnecting with friends from the past to make sure they stay in the present.
Warm Regards,
Lauren
