I am a wedding and portrait photographer who keeps things light, fun, and full of energy. I’m based out of Springfield, Illinois however I love traveling all over the midwest and beyond.
inquire about your session!
I first met Rebecca and Nick at a busy, loud, yet exciting Bridal Show in Springfield, Illinois in January of this year. I wrote all about my awesome participation in bridal shows HERE at the beginning of the year (if you want to slide on over there later)! I chatted for a bit with the two of them along with Rebecca’s mom about their wedding plans as well about my photography experience. I could tell that Rebecca and I clicked right away. She was very sweet and it was clear photography was a big priority on her list. Which obviously makes me very happy since I love working with brides who put their wedding photography at the upmost importance for their special day.
Fast forward to their engagement session. We tried to make it work in the spring, but with all the rain and chillier weather we ended up pushing their session back to June. When we started talking locations, Rebecca told me she really liked the look of ivy walls and was in love with the red doors at a local church downtown. We began the session in the city by the ivy wall I enjoy using followed by the brilliant red doors. I joked with Nick about how excited he looked to be taking photos on his one day off! They both laughed and said the he was there to do whatever makes her happy! He’s learning “Happy Wife, Happy Life!” Keep it up, Nick! Rebecca also wanted to head over to Washington Park where in the wintertime, Nick had proposed under the stars in front of the Carillon. So the park was a must! We wondered around the Botanical Gardens and while it was a bit on the windy side, it was very pleasant spending time with these two. We talked about their son, who just turned one this week! They both lit up when talking about little Nicholas. You can tell they are very proud parents and excited to watch him grow. Then to finish up I suggested Centennial Park where the sunset is one of my favorites! Something about the tall grasses and the soft, warm orange glow behind a couple that makes me all giddy! By this time Nick, had settled in and was becoming quite the expert dipper! When we finished and the sun had gone down we talked about the future plans and exchanged big hugs. I’m looking forward to seeing Rebecca & Nick’s relationship grow along with seeing them raise a wonderful son. Thanks again Rebecca & Nick!
Warm Regards,
Lauren
