inquire about your session!
Being chosen on several occassions by the Kinks for their family photography has been an honor. I first met them for a spring mini session last year at Washington Park in Springfield, Illinois. Mom, Lynn was looking for family photos to celebrate her daughter Ava’s 3rd and son Joseph’s 2nd birthdays. In fact, I believe our first outdoor sessions was actually on Joseph’s birthday! We found a perfect patch of lavendar dogwood trees to use as a backdrop in the beautiful sunny spring weather for Lynn, Matt, and their super adorable children. Our second session was right after the holidays of just the kiddos to once again commemorate one more year older. I actually started blogging at the beginning of this year and I highlighted this sweet family in my very first client blog post you can read HERE! Make sure you check them out after you see their new session shots!
We decided this time for their spring session to go with an evening session, since this is the best lighting of the day. Golden Hour! The Ostermeier House, which is part of Lincoln Memorial Gardens was the chosen location this time. Lynn mentioned they would be going with a nice mix of orange and white for their coordinating outfits. Beautiful for the spring. We took our time walking a circle around the pond stopping at several little spots along the way. Ava and Joseph are so full of adventure and life and love to be goofy with one another. In fact, they loved looking for leaves while we were out at the gardens so they each chose one leaf and they carried them around the park. When we were ready for photos I would take them, keep them by my bag, and when we were finished they would be returned to their rightful owner. We even had a quick game of Ring Around the Rosey. Ava and Joseph were so well mannered and did amazing during our session. But, I had no doubt since this is how they have been from the beginning. Every session I have with this amazing family I have looked forward to seeing them and playing with them, which is really what our time together is. Playing to capture their moments of joy with each other. Can’t wait for our next moments together.
Warm Regards,
Lauren
