I am a wedding and portrait photographer who keeps things light, fun, and full of energy. I’m based out of Springfield, Illinois however I love traveling all over the midwest and beyond.
inquire about your session!
I first met sweet little Cooper at a family generational session last fall with his mom, Janna’s side of the family at Lincoln Memorial Gardens. Before all his cousins, aunts, uncle, and of course grandparents arrived we started with Cooper and his mom and dad, Cole. Ensuring that his full attention was on me instead of his cousins running around. At the time, he was about 7 months old and as cute as could be! He was so giggly and grinning from ear to ear. A few days after later, Janna reached out to me to schedule Cooper’s one year appointment for May. I do not even believe she had even seen any of the photos from our time together. She just knew we all had a blast and wanted to secure her spot around his May birthday! Having her request her spot so far in advance meant the world.
Well the day came and went and I couldn’t believe how big Cooper had grown since our last session when I arrived at Washington Park in Springfield, Illinois! His big brown eyes had begun discovering more and more. He was so inquisitive about his surroundings. The stone walkway, the people walking around, the grass between his fingers (which he definitely did not like!) Mom and Dad made a super smart move bringing one of Cooper’s favorite toys….Balls! As soon as one ball was thrown his way his eyes lit up and a big smirk popped on his face. Not only did he get to play with one ball, but a whole ball pit worth of balls that mom picked up to keep him happy and attentive. Add in a blanket (cause again I told you he was not feeling the grass), some adorable decorations, and we finished up with the best part. Smash Cake! Cooper was not quite sure of the cake when it was set down in front of him. He actually burst into tears at the beginning! However, those big crocodile tears went away once he took his first taste of the sugary icing. By the end, we had seen the many faces of Cooper from his huge grin to his a face full of cake. The primary colors popped and that delightful handsome guy right in the middle made it all come together. Happy Birthday Cooper!
Warm Regards,
Lauren
