I am a wedding and portrait photographer who keeps things light, fun, and full of energy. I’m based out of Springfield, Illinois however I love traveling all over the midwest and beyond.

I am all about love stories! It’s kinda what I do! Learning the love stories of each of my couples is such a fun experience for me as a wedding photographer. Erin and Nick are one of my couples with a wonderful story to tell! They met at Blackburn College in Carlinville, Illinois where Nick played soccer while attending school and Erin was studying to be a teacher. When it came to the proposal after some time of dating, Nick seriously went all out! He knew Erin was looking forward to the new Beauty and the Beast movie and began plotting his proposal with some of Erin’s friends. They created an amazing movie poster showing Nick down on one knee with the engagement ring and both his and Erin’s names were playing the starring role! He teamed up with the Marvel Theater in Carlinville to put the poster up in their “Now Showing” displays on the outside of the theater while he and Erin were inside watching Beauty and the Beast on opening night! How adorable, right?! Then to add the butter on the popcorn if you will, Nick requested the theater to add on their marquee, “Beauty and the Beast…Marry Me” all in lights. As they left the theater after the movie, he asked Erin if she wanted to see the movie playing next in the display, then got down on one knee to pop the question!!! So AMAZING and creative!
Erin and Nick knew for their engagement session as we began planning they wanted to revisit the theater as well as come up to Springfield for a different look for their photos. We chose Washington Park since there are so many unique options and pretty spots. From the gazebo to Williams Blvd full of gorgeous fall blooming flowers and ferns, this couple was incredibly cute together. With Nick’s towering height over Erin, he was able to wrap her up in his arms and snuggle her so well! We made one more stop in the park at a wooden, rustic pergola that simply added a little bit of charm to their session. We then took a nice summer drive down to Carlinville just in time for a few moments of photos in the courtyard of their reception venue, which just happened to be right across the street from the Marvel Theater. We played a little “Frogger” dodging cars to get some street sunset photos before the glow of the movie theater lights were perfect! The great staff at the theater put up “Coming Soon: Mr. and Mrs. Crain” on the marquee to help make their pictures marvelously memorable!
I thoroughly enjoyed the thought and effort that went into making Erin and Nick’s engagement session fabulous! If their June 2018 wedding is as brilliant as their proposal and engagement session (which I have no doubt it will be), we are in for a glorious day! Looking forward to the big day and sharing it with this adorable couple!
Warm Regards,
Lauren
